Fabric Bookmark

This is a simple project for beginners. You can even hand-sew these if you don't have a machine!

If you're like me and you read often, this fabric bookmark is for you. It would also be a great gift for any bibliophile in your life!

This project doesn't use a lot of fabric, so if you want to use those scraps, now is the time!

Start by cutting two 4x4 inch squares of fabric. Place them against each other with the wrong side facing out. Sew along the top and bottom, leaving at least 1/2 inch to the edge. It should look similar to the picture on the right once you're done.

Flip the fabric so that the pattern is facing out. Iron the fabric at the edges so it lies flat.

Now cut a 4x4 inch square of fabric from a different pattern or color. Fold this square into a triangle and tuck in the raw edges. Iron the edges down to keep them in place.

Make sure all of the raw edges have been folded in and ironed or pinned into place. Sew the triangle onto the background fabric around the border square to complete.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
