Glitter isn't something I commonly use in my craft projects. It can be messy, difficult to disperse evenly, and for some reason I continue to find it for months after I finish the craft I needed it for. But sometimes the glitter is necessary because nothing makes a craft project sparkle like glitter. This vase can be messy to make (due to glitter), but it's also a very quick craft project. If you make a lot of them, I'm sure they'd be great to hold flowers for a wedding reception or other event.
Ingredients:
Cylindrical vase
Painter's tape
Foam brush
Glue (or mod podge)
Glitter
Instructions:
Start by carefully placing your tape around the vase, between where you want your first and second glitter sections to be. Place a second strip of tape along the top of where you want the glitter to end.
*To make this craft less messy, I strongly suggest putting down newspaper before you start gluing.
Place glue onto the bottom part of the vase and spread it around with your foam brush. It's best to do this in small sections to ensure maximum glitter coverage. After the section has been spread with glue, generously sprinkle glitter over to glue until it is fully covered. Continue to repeat the gluing and glittering steps until both glitter sections are finished. If there are any spots that need touched up, just add a tiny bit of glue and some more glitter.
Let glue dry for 30-40 minutes. Gently pull off the tape to reveal the crisp lines of glitter.
Enjoy your finished vase! If you would like to reuse the extra glitter, you can collect it on a newspaper and slowly funnel it back into the container.
