Christmas Crack

This is a very easy candy to make for Christmas, or at any time of the year! Christmas crack is the perfect mix of sweet and salty, with a satisfying crunch. There also aren't many ingredients that go into this, so it's fairly inexpensive. The walnuts are optional.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers

  • 3/4 cup butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • Chocolate chips

  • Chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

Line a baking sheet with tin foil. Place saltine crackers in a single layer over the tin foil.

Bring 3/4 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar to a boil. Let boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pour toffee mixture evenly over crackers and bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over top and spread with a knife or rubber spatula. If you want the chocolate chips to melt quicker, stick the pan back in the oven for a 1-2 additional minutes. Top chocolate with chopped nuts if desired.

Let baking sheet cool to room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes.

Crack into pieces and enjoy!
