Banana Bread

Bananas don't last very long in my house, but on the off-chance they do get overripe, I like to make banana bread. Usually I put walnuts in mine (like the recipe says), but feel free to substitute with chocolate chips for something sweeter. This recipe is great for breakfast or a snack during the day. Baking the bread takes about an hour though, so be sure to have enough time for it!

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup melted butter, margarine, or oil

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine mashed bananas, sugar, and egg into a bowl. Stir until combined.

Slowly add the butter while continuously stirring. After the butter is mixed in, add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and stir just until mixed together.

Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
