I'm not sure whether these classify as tarts, pasties, or something else entirely, but I'm going to say these are tarts to keep things simple. This is a ridiculously easy option to make when you feel like eating something sweet, but don't necessarily want the added sugars. You can make your own puff pastry for an even healthier option, but I decided to use store-bought for mine out of convenience.

Ingredients:

  • Puff pastry dough

  • 2-3 apples

  • Honey

  • Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Core, then slice your apples very thin.

Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Spread a spoonful of honey in six spots, with lots of space in between. Place 6-10 apple slices over each honey spot.

Cut pastry dough into small squares, just large enough to cover the apples and honey. After each apple and honey spot has been covered on the baking sheet, place inside the oven.

Bake for 16-18 minutes. Sprinkle cinnamon over tops if desired.
